Abstract
469,489. Tank vehicles. DEIGHTON'S PATENT FLUE & TUBE CO., Ltd., and RIDEALGH, J. T. March 2, 1936, No. 6222. [Class 108 (i)] In motor vehicle gulley emptying and resealing apparatus of the type comprising an inner sludge compartment and an outer compartment for the water or disinfectant for resealing the gullies, the compartments are arranged horizontally so as to secure a uniform distribution of the load irrespective of the quantities of water and sludge in the compartments. As shown, the tank comprises two shells 1, 2 arranged horizontally and surrounding one another and having their axes either coincident or eccentric, the inner compartment being for the sludge and the outer for the water or disinfectant. The gulley pipe 8, connected by flexible tube 9 to the sludge inlet, may be arranged at the rear as shown or at the near or off side and the counterbalancing arm 10 is mounted on the swivel inlet 7. A suction pipe 18 and pump 17 together with a water resealing pipe 14 are provided. A pipe 15 for discharge of the excess water above the sludge and a rear door 6x for the sludge compartment are provided together with tipping means 21.
