Abstract

466,776. Roofs ; reducing damage by bombs &c. PAULSSEN, O. Dec. 2, 1935, No. 33307. [Classes 20 (i) and 20 (iv)] Hangars and other sheds are protected from damage by bombs or explosives, by forming the roof of spaced corrugated or other metal sheets 1, 2, the space between the sheets being provided with mats of heat-insulating material 5 such as asbestos fibre, silicates, alumina, chalk &c., the roof plates being connected by bolts passing therethrough and through the insulation. Some of these bolts have hooked or other ends for coupling to the purlins to secure the roof in position. Wire netting 8 may be supported above the roof, or may rest on the insulating material within the roof. Wire netting may also be secured to the roofsupporting structure, close to the underside of the roof, to catch falling debris.
