Abstract

464,484. Lay figures. LAWRENCE, F. C. Oct. 21, 1935, Nos. 28989/35, and 28589 /36, (divided out of 454,561). [Class 52 (v)] The hollow body portion 8 of a lay figure is attached to the stand 9 by means of three or more flexible tubes 12 spaced substantially equal distances apart about a common centre and connected at opposite ends to the body and the stand. A wooden or like member 10 secured inside the body 8 at the shoulders, the waist, or elsewhere is provided on its under side with pins or rods 11 arranged to telescope into the tubes 12 to provide connection between the tubes and the body. Means are provided to prevent accidental detachment of the body 8 from the tubes 12 and may comprise projections or washers 2 secured on the upper ends of the tubes 12 and adapted to engage a head 25 on an extra rod 26 secured to the board 10. The body 8 may be provided with an opening 20 at the back and with a head as described in Specification 454,561.
