Abstract
463,358. Toy pistols. MARX & CO., Ltd., L. (Marx & Co., Inc., L.) May 6, 1936, No. 12825. Addition to 438,245. [Class 132 (iii)] A toy pistol forming a modification of that described in the parent Specification, having noise-producing and spark-producing devices actuated by a spring motor, comprises a spring motor M actuating by step-up gearing an abrasive wheel 64 contacting with a flint 66 in an arm 70 and actuating, by a helical face cam 106 mounted on an intermediate motor shaft 52, a leaf spring hammer 102 which is intermittently released by the cam to strike the noise producing diaphragm 98. The sparks are emitted through an opening 22 and the noise is emitted through an opening 100 in an outwardly displaced portion 38 of the pistol casing. The rear end of the arm 70 is reduced to form a tongue 72 loosely received in an opening 74 in the top of the motor frame F and the entire top wall of the motor frame is cut away ahead of the opening 74 so that the arm 70 is freely movable which prolongs the life of the flint and enables the abrasive wheel 64 to be made coarse and inaccurate without damaging the flint. The flint arm 70 and flint 66 are removable by opening the closure member 76. The trigger T is pivoted at 114 and is normally urged upwards by a wire spring 118 and has a cam-like brake surface 116 normally contacting with a shaft 62 of the spring motor mechanism to stop the motor. The downward movement of the brake surface 116 is limited by a stop lug 124. Imitation jewels 134 are held in place by a cover plate 136, Figs. 1 and 7.
