Abstract

462,680. Self-contained supply systems. C. A. V.-BOSCH, Ltd., GLASER, W. H., and WOOD, N. R. Sept. 12, 1935, No. 25340. [Class 38 (iv)] Variable-speed generators, with.-In a system in which a variable speed generator a on a motor vehicle is connected to a battery c through a fuse k, and a cut-out e a lamp h is connected through a resistance l in parallel with a rectifier m across the fuse and cut-out. The arrangement is such that when the cutout is open and the generator inoperative the lamp is energized from the battery through the resistance l but should the fuse k blow when the generator is operative the lamp is energized by the excess of generator voltage over the battery and the resistance l is short circuited by the rectifier m. The operating member of a switch i controlling the lamp circuit also controls the ignition circuit of the engine, and warns the driver when the ignition system is energized.
