Abstract

462,174. Insulators. TAYLOR, TUNNICLIFF, & CO., Ltd., and SPENCER, E. D. Aug. 30, 1935, No. 24210. [Class 36] A high-tension supporting insulator comprises a plurality of separately formed units such as 1-3, superimposed one upon the other and cemented together to form a selfcontained composite body, the top and bottom units having cylindrical outer ends to which external metal attachment fittings 4, 5 are cemented. The units are of inverted cup form and the upper end of each, excepting the top unit, is formed with a shoulder 15 and a conical portion 13, which rests within the flared lower end 7 of the adjacent upper unit. The units are secured together by cement 18 interposed between the conical and flared surfaces of the adjacent units.
