[Class 126] To allow the splash-plate 3a at the back of a gas-stove hot-plate to be adjusted in a fore-and-aft direction, it is attached to the stove by means of two forwardly-extending arms 15 each engaging in a pocket 5 provided on one of the side bridges supporting the hot-plate, means being provided for securing the arms when engaged to the desired extent in the pockets. In the form shown, the arms 15 form part of the uprights of a frame to which the splash-plate is secured with its lower end engaging in recesses 16, or on which it is removably supported by forming its upper end to engage over the top bar 14. The frame is provided with plate-rack supports 11. Looking screws 10 engage selectively in holes 9 in the outer faces of the arms 15 to secure them in adjusted position in the pockets, and grub-screws engage grooves on their inner faces to limit their movement. In another form described, the splash-plate is formed of a casting, to which the arms 15 and brackets 11 are secured, no supporting frame being employed.
