Abstract
A washing-liquor contains a water-soluble salt of pyro- or ortho-phosphoric acid, and a washing-agent, free from sulpho-groups, having one of the formul (a) <FORM:0461328/IV/1> ; (b) <FORM:0461328/IV/2> ; and (c) R3.CO--NH. C2H4.O.OC--R4.COOY, where R is an alkyl or cycloalkyl radical containing at least 10 carbon atoms; R1 is a hydrocarbon or acyl radical containing fewer carbon atoms than R; R2 is hydrogen, alkyl, or an alkyl group containing at least one hydroxy or carboxy group; R3 is an alkyl radical containing at least 10 carbon atoms; R4 is a hydrocarbon radical containing fewer carbon atoms than R3; and Y is hydrogen or alkali metal. Washing agents specified are: dodecylaminoacetic acid, dodecyliminodiacetic acid, hydroxyethyloctadecylaminoacetic acid, sarcosides of high molecular fatty acids, e.g. sodium oleyl sarcoside, betaines, semi-amides obtained from dicarboxylic acids and amines of high molecular weight, e.g. octadecenyl-succinic acid-semi amide, and products obtained from a dicarboxylic acid and an ethanolamide of a high molecular fatty acid. Other additions specified are: sodium sulphate, carbonate, percarbonate, persulphate, perborate, or hydrosulphite; glycerin mono-esters of high molecular acids, ethers of high molecular fatty alcohols; and solvents such as carbon tetrachloride, glycol mono-ethyl ether or mono-acyl ether; cyclohexanol, or cyclohexanone. The washing liquor is suitable for use with hard waters, since deposition of calcium and magnesium carbonates is prevented. Linen, wool or cotton may be treated. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also washing agents of the general formul R.X.R1.COOY and R.XR1XR2.COOY, in which R is an aliphatic or cyclo aliphatic alkyl radical of high molecular weight containing at least 5 carbon atoms; R1 and R2 are organic radicals containing less carbon atoms than R; X is oxygen, nitrogen, sulphur or sulphonyl; and Y is hydrogen or alkali metals. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.ALSO:A washing-liquor contains a water-soluble salt of pyro- or ortho-phosphoric acid and a washing-agent, free from sulpho groups, having one of the formulae <FORM:0461328/III/1> <FORM:0461328/III/2> and (c) R3.CO --NH.C2H4.O.OC.R4.COOY, where R is an alkyl or cyclo-alkyl radical containing at least 10 carbon atoms; R1 is a hydrocarbon or acyl radical containing fewer p carbon atoms than R ; R2 is hydrogen, alkyl, or an alkyl group containing at least one hydroxy or carboxy group; R3 is an alkyl radical containing at least 10 carbon atoms; R4 is a hydrocarbon radical containing fewer carbon atoms than R3; and Y is hydrogen or alkali metal. Washing-agents specified are: dodecylaminoacetic acid, dodecylimino-diacetic acid, hydroxyethyloctadecylamino-acetic acid, sarcosides of high-molecular fatty acids, e.g. sodium oleyl sarcoside, betaines, semi-amides obtained from dicarboxylic acids and amines of high molecular weight such as octadecenyl succinic-acid-semiamide, and products obtained from a dicarboxylic acid with an ethanolamide of a high-molecular fatty acid. Other additions specified are, sodium sulphate, carbonate, percarbonate, persulphate, perborate, or hydrosulphite; glycerin mono-esters of high-molecular acids, ethers of higher fatty alcohols, and solvents such as carbon tetrachloride, glycol - monoethylether or -monoaryl ether, cyclohexanol or cyclohexanone. The washing liquor is suitable for use with hard waters since deposition of magnesium and calcium carbonates is prevented. Fabrics, furniture, floors, windows or utensils may be cleaned. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also washing agents of the general formulae R.X.R1.COOY and R.X.R1.X.R2.COOY in which R is an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic alkyl radical of high molecular weight containing at least 5 carbon atoms; R1 and R2 are organic radicals containing fewer carbon atoms than R; X is oxygen, sulphur, nitrogen or sulphonyl; and Y is hydrogen or alkali metal. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
