Abstract
460,938. Springs. LORENZ, A., and GAAL, A. April 20, 1936, No. 11241. Convention date, April 23, 1935. [Class 108 (iii)] [Also in Groups XIV and XXIII] Resilient cantilever seat supports 1, 2 carrying the seat and back 3 by means of cross-bars 4, 5 comprise U-shaped members divided over a part only of their length to form loose layers or strips 8 movable relatively against each other when the support is bent. As shown the supports are of plywood the plies being separated from the point 6 to the upper end of the support. Balls or rollers may be placed between the layers which may have pressed-up recesses to form bearing surfaces, or elastic plates may be glued or laced between the layers. The supports may be made of synthetic resin.
