Abstract

460,759. Head -sets. SIEMENS APPARATE UND MASCHINEN GES. July 6, 1936, No. 18721. Convention date, July 6, 1935. [Class 40 (iv)] In a cap or head suspension device having a telephone instrument 5 mounted therein, a carrier 3 which supports the instrument surrounds the inner edge of an opening 2 in the head band 1 in such a way that the telephone instrument is free to be shifted in all directions within the opening and is frictionally held in its adjusted position on the cap or band 1. The carrier 3, which is preferably of elastic material, has an outer surface formed with annular rolls 6, 7 and a casing adapted to enclose the telephone instrument 5 and formed with a flange 9 extending around the aperture 2. The strap has a reinforcing ring 13 around the opening 2 and carries a spring ring 10 which supports a cover 11. The movement of the instrument within the opening is limited by spring strips 12 connected to the carrier 3 and the head band 1. The carrier may be held in its adjusted position by press buttons and the telephone instrument may be a microphone operated directly by the throat of the user.
