Feb. 15, 1936, No. 4684. [Class 61 (ii)] A vice comprises a body 4 carrying the fixed jaw 2 and a cylindrical slide bar 6 carrying the movable jaw 1 and guided in a cylindrical bore 5 in the body 4 by one or more cylindrical or other splines 7a extending the length of the bore and fixed therein by screws 10 enabling adjustment to be made after wear. Fig. 8 shows a modification wherein a single spline 7 of V- section has a projection 13 engaging a hole in the base 4a of the vice body 4 and is adjusted by grub screws 7<1>.
