Abstract

458,984. Endless - chain conveyers. PEARSON, W. E., and TRENCH, H. C., 7, Walbrook, London. July 2, 1935, No. 18922. [Class 78 (i)] [See also Group X] A conveyer for moving cars in a garage comprises two parallel or concentric platforms or lines of connected trucks synchronously moved and spaced apart the length of a car wheel-base and adapted to support the front and rear wheels respectively. The trucks shown in the Figure, are rigidly connected and moved by cables 15, 16, synchronizing capstans 17, 18, and motor 19 in concentric circles. Tension pulleys 20, 21 and guides 23 to relieve side thrust are provided. The guides 23 may comprise grooved members supported by roller bearings on a fixed guide. The conveyers may comprise continuous platforms of coupled members, the upper part passing over rails adapted to support the weight of the cars and the return part passing beneath the rails.
