Abstract
<PICT:0458903/IV/1> The guide rollers under which a textile thread is passed to guide it through a liquid for moistening or lubricating it are supported in means which may be adjustable relatively to one another to adjust the length of the path of the thread through the bath. The guide rollers 12, in the form shown, are constituted by or have attached thereto, floats, so that the length of path is substantially independent of the level of liquid in the bath. The rollers 12 are supported, in a manner which permits free vertical p movement, in sheet metal casings 16<a> which may be clipped in any desired position, to control the length of the path, to the sides of the bath, or, where the bath is divided into sections by partitions, to these partitions. Thread guiding eyes 11 are arranged in pairs in the walls of the container 10 to guide the threads into and out of the container, and these may be snapped into holes made in the sides of the container. If desired, these holes need only be partially punched so that the punching may be removed when the hole is required for use. Before passing out of the container, the threads are drawn over a rounded guide bar 20 at the lower front end of an inclined absorbent pad 18 which removes surplus liquid from the threads.
