457,897. Sand - blast ; rumbles. TILGHMAN'S PATENT SAND BLAST CO., Ltd., Atlantic Street, Broadheath, near Altrincham, and ANKERS, R. T., Gresford, Barrington Road, Altrincham, Cheshire. Aug. 10, 1935, No. 22628. [Class 60] A machine for sand-blasting comprises a trough a open at the top and oscillated on end trunnions b by a crank c, connecting-rod c<1> and an eccentric c<2>. The articles to be treated are fed from a shoot to one end of the trough, which has therein a sloping plate to feed the articles along the trough whilst undergoing treatment by sand-blast from nozzles d, and the finished articles passing out through an aperture at the other end of the trough on to a sloping screen h, and thence into a casing, the sand passing through the screen to a hopper j and the articles being removed by means of a sliding door n in the casing. In order to prevent the articles from falling out of the trough, the trough moves in curved guards k, and in order to carry the articles upwards, ribs or projections, which may be of spiral form, are provided in the trough, or the inside of the trough may be of polygonal section.
