Abstract
457,172. Diving into and excavating mud &c. WIENEN, W. VAN, 20, Wodanstraat, Amsterdam. June 3, 1936, No. 15565. Convention date, July 18, 1935. [Classes 68 (i) and 68 (ii)] .For driving into sub aquatic layers of mud and the like there is used, suspended from frames 6 on boats 7, a long caisson 1 with an airlock 2 at the top and a diving-chamber 3 at the lower end. The chamber 3 has a perforated bottom 16, a lower-pressure pipe 17, ending in a nozzle 19, and a high-pressure pipe 18 ending in annular mains 21, 22; a branch ends in a nozzle 20. The mud, &c., is removed circumferentially by the air blown through the plate 16, and by the water from the parts 19-22.
