[Class 145 (ii)] [See also Group X] A flooring or paving block is composed of a number of small wooden elements a arranged in longitudinal and transverse rows, some or all of the rows having chamfered lower edges l to permit a ready flow of the mastic upon which the blocks are laid. The elements are arranged with the end grain presented to the tread surface and, in the construction shown, are bonded together by wires or rods j, k. These rods or wires in length are equal to or slightly less than the width or length of the blocks and, when the blocks are laid, are adapted to be displaced longitudinally so as to project slightly into an adjacent block.
