A combined kerb and drainage channel of reinforcedconcrete has 'the upper face of the kerb d completely overhanging the channel a, and is reinforced transversely by metal bars or rods f arranged at intervals along the length of the kerb. The channel may be substantially semicircular in cross-section and terminates in a lip b disposed immediately below the outer face c of the kerb ; the drainage water enters the channel through an opening e. Alternatively, the reinforcing means may consist of metal lathing, sheeting, or metal fabric, and is bent substantially to the same shape as the kerb and channel, being passed around longitudinal reinforcing rods g. A further vertical reinforcing rod k may be arranged between the transverse reinforcements. A recess j may be provided in the upper corner of the kerb adjacent the pavement.
