Abstract
455,928. Revolving doors. COLMAN & SONS, Ltd., T. B., Mortimer Road, and COLMAN, A. G., Kilkare, New Church Road, both in Hove, Sussex. April 30, 1935, No. 12822. [Class 20 (iii)] Relates to collapsable revolving doors having radial wings hingedly mounted on a central column, in the manner described in Specification 360,858, such that they may be folded together if required. According to the invention, the yielding means whereby the wings are held in their radial positions comprise a yielding socket on one part engaging a rigid nose or projection on the other part. In the four-wing form shown the wings, of which three only, a, b, c, are shown, are mounted on a central column a<1> and above them a cross-arm having four limbs d .. g, is secured to the column, the arms having rigid rounded ends which are held in engagement with spring- loaded sockets h provided in housings j on the tops of the door-wings. Runners n are fitted between the limbs of the cross-arm, on which the sockets may bear when the wings are being folded together. The cross-arm may be replaced by a circular disc or its equivalent, while the spring-loaded sockets may be fitted in the limbs of the cross-arm and engage rigid projections on the tops of the door wings. The invention is also applicable to three-wing doors.
