Abstract
461,015. Spectacles. WHEWA Y OPTICAL CO., Ltd., and BROWN, P. S. Sept. 13, 1935, No. 25426. [Class 97 (i)] In spectacles in which each rim is split and is provided at the division with lugs to which a temple piece is attached, a sleeve is provided embracing the lugs, and the temple is pivoted to one or both lugs by a single screw or rivet passing through the lug or lugs and also serving to secure the sleeve on the lugs. In Fig. 1, the lugs b are similar to each other and are so shaped at their outer ends as to form between them a slot which receives the end of the temple e. The lugs are held together by a sleeve c which slides over them and is secured by a screw &c. d which also forms the pivot for the temple. In Fig. 3, the lugs are of unequal lengths and the longer lug is thickened at its outer end and formed with a slot to receive the temple. In Fig. 9, each lug is of semicircular section and is provided with external screwthreads to be engaged by internal threads of the sleeve c.
