Abstract

455,318. Ambulances. DENTON, H., St. Anne's Cottage, Palace Road, and CRITCH. TON, G. W., West End Garage, both in Buxton, and WOODALL, NICHOLSON, Ltd., Horton Street, Halifax, Yorkshire. July 16, 1935, No. 20228. [Class 108 (i)] Means are provided whereby a stretcher with the patient thereon may be loaded into a car through the customary side door and subsequently moved into a longitudinal position within the car. A framework 5 is provided with tracks 6 upon which a trolley 7 is adapted to run, the trolley 7 being provided with a central pivot 10 for the carrier frame 11. Within the longitudinal members of the carrier frame are arranged tubular telescopic members 12 to which tracks 13 for the stretcher wheels 2 are secured, the tracks 13 being provided with upturned ends 19 and the frame 11 having caster wheels 14. In operation the end of the members 12 is moved in the direction A towards the side door, the trolley 7 meanwhile moving on the tracks 6 until stopped by the end of the slot 17 in the board 18. The telescopic members 12 together with the tracks 13 are drawn out to receive the stretcher after which the frame is telescoped and moved in the vehicle in an arcuate movement until finally the stretcher and frame assume the longitudinal position.
