454,767. Reaping and harvesting machines. INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO. OF GREAT BRITAIN, Ltd., 259, City Road, London.-(International Harvester Co. ; 606, South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, U.S.A.) March 16, 1936, No. 7839. [Class 6 (iii)] An attachment for sheaf-binding harvesters for deflecting the standing crop away from the machine consists of a shield or fender 7 of halfcone shape disposed at the grainward side of the machine with its apex towards the front and with its convex surface presented outwardly to the standing grain, the front end being pivotally mounted and the rear end being adjustably supported so that the whole fender may be raised or lowered or moved to-and-fro relative to the side of the machine, the apex forming the pivotal point of such movements. The front end terminates in a Z-shaped pin fitting loosely and removably in a hole in a bracket on the forwardly extending bar 6 which supports the outer dividers 4, 5. The upwardly bent end of a supporting rod 13 fits into lugs on a bracket 10 on the fender 7, the rod 13 being adjustably secured in a tube 14 by a clamping screw 15. The inner end of the tube 14 is adjustably connected to a vertical pin 22 by serrated discs and an eye-bolt 26, the pin 22 being carried loosely in ears 23 on a bracket 24.
