Abstract
454,688. Slicing-machines. SIVERTSEN, P., Valhalla Highlands, Cold Spring, New York, U.S.A. Sept. 6, 1935, No. 24856. Convention date, Sept. 15, 1934. [Class 28 (ii)] In a slicing-machine the end holder E is provided at one of its corners with an integral sleeve G, slidably and pivotally mounted on a guide rod H arranged adjacent to one edge of the V-shaped food supporting trough A. A stop plate M is arranged adjacent to the rod H which prevents the holder E from being swung to the inoperative position unless it is retracted from the knife to the fullest extent. The holder E is retained in its inoperative position by a catch T which engages a catch S on the holder, the catches being kept in locking engagement by a spring R, or by the modified locking-means shown in Fig. 6. As described the trough A is inclined so that a gravity feed is effected towards an inclined knife, but the trough may be arranged in association with a horizontal or vertical knife.
