Abstract
454,443. Electric signalling systems. McLELLAN, A., 30A, Peters Court, Porchester Road, Bayswater, London. April 2, 1935, No. 10223. [Class 40 (i)] [See also Groups XIX and XXIX] An aeroid type altimeter or other pressuremeasuring instrument has an adjustable flexible lever 10 for restoring the capsule 1 against the operating pressure to a predetermined normal position. A micrometer screw 13 is turned, to open contacts 6 and 8 or 7 and 9, by gearing 17 and a fan wheel 18 which may be blown in either direction of rotation according to the position of an air nozzle 19. The latter is rocked up or down by a solenoid 20 or 21 according to whether a change of pressure in capsule 1 closes contacts 6 and 8 or 7 and 9 respectively. The screw 13 may carry an indicator or a counter 22 may be driven by wheel 18. Instead of the parts 18 and 19, a solenoid controlled reversible electric motor may be used or a solenoid controlled mechanical reversing gear drive may be employed. In the case of an automatically operating instrument the fan wheel &c. is mounted preferably in an exhausted case.
