Abstract
453,867. Shoe racks. BRITISH UNITED SHOE MACHINERY CO., Ltd., Belgrave Road, and BARNETT, W., Newlyn, Vicarage Lane, Humberstone, both in Leicester. March 20, 1935, No. 8645. [Class 52 (v)] A shelf for use on a rack or conveyer transporting shoes between operations in a factory is formed of a framed slab 10 of spongy rubber with holes 12 each adapted to support a shoe on a last bottom upwards with the toe portion projecting beyond the margin of the slab. Downwardly depending flanges are formed around the openings to provide a larger gripping surface. The sponge rubber may be covered with textile material 16 and is adhesively attached to two bars 18 fastened to cross-bars 20 of a transportable rack frame 22 which is of greater width than the slab 10 to prevent damage to the projecting toes. Specifications 332,525, 332,526, [both in Class 70], and 367,041 are referred to.
