Abstract

453,576. Sound-recording apparatus; duplicating records. BLANLOEIL, R. J. L. E., 41, Rue de Plaisance, La Garenne-Colombes, Seine, France. March 11, 1935, No. 7599. Convention date, March 23, 1934. [Class 40 (ii)] [See also Group XX] In order to reduce the clear parts of records for " noiseless " reproduction and to avoid the cutting of steep wave - fronts, the " antiground - noise blackening " is systematically advanced by several millimetres relative to the corresponding sound record. Part of the sound currents from the amplifier 21 influences the oscillograph recorder 22, 27 to produce the sound record 10, and part is amplified at 38 and rectified at 41 to produce a current varying with the intensity of the sound, this current influencing the recorder 29, 34 to produce the auxiliary " blackening " 12, the origin of which is displaced as at 35 relative to the origin 36 of the sound record. A photographic reversal step may be used in the development of the master film or of each copy. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states that a similar process may be used for re-recording, the auxiliary recorder being controlled by an auxiliary " reading-device " arranged in advance of the main one. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 374,996 and 406,635.
