[Class 131] The pre-heated insertable heating element 2 of a hair curler 1 located in a heat-insulating sleeve 5 is provided with a heat accumulator 3. The heat storing extension 3 which is of material having good heat conductivity, preferably a light metal, has a lug 4 to facilitate grasping by a pair of tongs. The sheath 5 is preferably double walled and exhausted as in vacuum flasks and the part 3 which is of considerably larger volume than the rod 2 gives up its heat partly by conduction through the rod and partly to the air in the sheath.
