Abstract

452,961. Toothbrushes. BACHRICH, E., 55, Hietzinger Haupstrasse, Vienna. Dec. 18, 1935, No. 35102. Convention date, Dec. 19, 1934. [Class 19] A rotary power-driven toothbrush mounted on a spindle 7, Fig. 1, in the back of a casing 4 is characterized in that a driving spindle 2 extends to the casing wall and there carries a bevel wheel 5 so that the axis 7 of a driven wheel 6 connected to the brush back 9 is carried in the bottom of the casing 4. In a modification, Fig. 2, a shaft 7<1> passes through the casing 4<1> and has a seating head 11. A passage 18 allows water to escape. In a further modification, Fig. 3, two interengaging brushes 16, 17 are employed. Brush heads are interchangeable and can be unscrewed from their shafts by a suitable U-shaped key. The brushes are set preferably at an acute angle to the driving shaft. Instead of toothed wheels, friction wheels may be used.
