452,835. Mashing and straining devices. MANTELET & BOUCHER, 11, Rue Jules Ferry, Bagnolet, Seine, France. Feb. 14, 1936, No. 4602. Convention date, Nov. 26, 1935. [Class 28 (ii)] [See also Group I] In a mashing and straining device for kitchen use, the container is provided with a handle and with two fixed or detachable legs which are adapted to rest on a table or other support and are of sufficient length to allow a plate, dish, &c. to be placed between the table and the base of the container. A rotary masher 4 actuated by a handle 5 is disposed above a strainer 2 at the bottom of a container 1 provided with a wire handle 9, which is fitted with a nonconducting grip 11 and is formed in one with spaced legs 12, 13 adapted to support the container above a plate a on a table &c. b. The branched parts 10 of the wire are soldered around the sides of the container 1, and the legs 12, 13 are bent downwards and outwards and looped at their ends to receive rubber &c. blocks 16 ribbed to grip the table, the ends of the legs, in order to ensure stability, being at an equal or greater distance from the axis of the rotary handle 5 than the outer part of the handle grip 7. The inner parts of the handle and legs are adapted to rest on the rim of a saucepan.
