Abstract
452,334. Fuel pumps. SECK, W., 3, Paulsbornerstrasse, Halensee, Berlin. June 4, 1935, No. 16150. Convention date, June 4, 1934. [Class 102 (i)] [See also Groups XXXV and XXXVII] A diaphragm pump is actuated by a reciprocating electric motor comprising an electromagnet and an armature a secured to the diaphragm. The delivery stroke is effected by the spring f and is limited by contact between the nut m<1> and the casing p. The spindle s is guided by flat springs l, l<1> secured to the spindle and the casing. A sleeve b surrounds the core k and is of non- magnetic material and directs the lines of force to the auxiliary armature h. The interruptcr comprises a contact c<1> mounted upon a spring plate u, shaped as in Fig. 3, which is secured to the casing by screws passing through the holes s<1>, s<2>. The projection d upon the spindle s engages the end u<1> of the plate u and causes the end u<2> and the contact c<1> to move in opposite directions about some axis situated between them. The other contact c is carried by a spring plate h<1> secured to the casing and also carrying the auxiliary armature h. When the contacts c, c<1> engage, the armature h is attracted and moves downwards and carries with it contacts c, c<1> and lifts the end u<1> from the projection d. The period of contact is thus lengthened. When the projection d engages the end u<1> the contact is broken and the contact c is raised and during downward movement of the spindle s, the contact c<1> follows the contact c until it engages it. The period of break is thus lengthened.
