451,836. Adjusting wireless apparatus. NEUMANN GES., L., 36, Bergsteiggasse, Vienna. March 11, 1936, No. 7376. Convention date, April 16, 1935. [Class 37] Map-tuning devices for rendering the geographical positions of the transmitting stations visible comprise rigid or flexible channel members, each being connected at one end with the map positions and the other ends being influenced by the tuning adjustment mechanism. In one arrangement, openings 8a ... 8e in the wall of a drum 2 receive one end of glass tubes ga ... ge, the other ends terminating at the station positions. A wheel 4 driven by pinion 5 on the condenser spindle carries an arm and lamp 6. Total reflection may occur in the glass tubes or rods, which may be filled, or parallel glass members may have adjacent reflecting surfaces. The station points may be uniformly illuminated and may have a separate coloured or filtered light screen. Instead of an optical indicator, Bowden wires may be provided, the ends of which project beyond the surface of the station indicator map, the other ends of the wires being actuated by tuning cams or projections operative when adjustment is effected. Instead of providing separate channels these may be cast or embedded, or bored in a block of material.
