451,727. Fire - guards. GOODFELLOW, W. L., 8, Barcheston Road, Cheadle, Cheshire. July 31, 1935, No. 21682. [Class 126] In a combined fire-guard and ash-pit front, of the kind in which the guard B is mounted behind the front A and carries pins or studs b projecting through slots a<3> in the front so that it may be raised and lowered, the guard is retained in its raised position by moving it sideways to cause the pins b to engage in lateral recesses a<4> formed at the top of the slots a<3>. Further recesses a5 may be provided for similarly retaining the guard in an intermediate position. Projections a<7> may be provided on the guard B which engage under the firegrate when the guard is raised and prevent it from falling forward.
