Abstract
450,125. Vehicle draw-gear. PANCOTT, A. J., and JARMAIN, Ltd., T. M., Haseley Iron Works, Great Haseley, Oxford. Sept. 10, 1935, No. 25171. [Class 103 (v)] [See also Group I] A haysweep 1 is attached to the front end of a rigid frame which extends beneath a tractor 2 from the rear end thereof where it is rigidly attached to the tractor drawbar. The frame comprises a pair of channel bars 4 braced by cross-bars 5, 6 and brought together at their rear ends in a tail portion 7 embracing and bolted to a pair of angle-plates 8 placed back-to-back and forming the means of attachment to the tractor drawbar. The front cross-bar 5 may be threaded to enable the width of the frame to be adjusted. The cross-bars 6 may be threaded or formed with ears 12 bolted or riveted to the bars 4. The bars 4 may be loosely supported from the front axle 3 by inverted U-shaped members 14. The haysweep is coupled by pins 17 on brackets 15 loosely engaging vertically elongated loops 18 secured to the ends of the bars 4. A lever 20, held by a detent and quadrant, on the tail 7 of the frame, is operable to lift the sweep through a rod 21 slidable in guides 22 and connected by a link 23 to a bracket 19 on the sweep, a series of holes in the bracket and rod 21 providing for adjustments. Either end of the link 23 may be disconnected to give access to the starting handle 28.
