449,842. Insulators. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. June 29, 1935, No. 18683. Convention date, June 30, 1934. [Class 36] To facilitate the removal of insulating liquid from a lead-in bushing 10 of the kind wherein the space 24 between the lead-in conductor 21 and the inner wall of the bushing is normally wholly or in part filled with insulating liquid 28, the lead-in conductor is formed as a tube, the lower end of which is in open communication with the space 24. The upper end of the conductor is sealed from the space 24 by a cap 19 and communicates with outlet aperture 25 through which the insulating liquid is discharged by admitting gas under pressure to the space 24 through an inlet aperture 26 formed in the cap 19 above the normal level of the liquid. The outlet and inlet apertures 25, 26 are normally closed by plugs 29, 30 as shown in Fig. 2.
