Abstract
449,430. Vehicle - axle bearings. RUHRHANDEL GES., 1, Presselweg, and SCHUCK, C., 6, Steinstrasse, both in Haspe, Hagen, Germany. Aug. 19, 1935, No. 23219. [Class 12 (i)] The loose wheels of a vehicle are mounted on a conical roller bearing p on a loose axle l and in a conical roller bearing g carried in a fixed housing a. As shown in the left-hand part of the Figure, the outer race ring f of the bearing g is slidable in a grease chamber a<1> of the tubular axle a and is acted upon by a spring h. In the right-hand part of the Figure, the bearing g is mounted in a separate grease sleeve r and the member n carrying the inner race ring of the bearing p is screwed to the axle l. In a modification of the latter construction, the axle l is divided at the centre, the two parts being connected together by a screwed sleeve.
