Abstract
Stable addition products are obtained by combining carbamyl chloride and its alkyl substitution products with halogen compounds of the type of Friedel-Craft catalysts. Specified halogen compounds are anhydrous aluminium chloride, bromide or iodide, and anhydrous ferric chloride. The reagents may be brought together in the presence or absence of an inert solvent or diluent, a number of these being specified. Examples are given of the manufacture of products from (1) carbamyl chloride and aluminium chloride, (2) methylcarbamyl chloride and aluminium chloride, (3) carbamyl chloride and ferric chloride.
