[Class 141] The breast pockets 5 of a brassiere or foundation garment are divided into upper and lower sections 6, 7, respectively, which are joined together by means of stitching 8, the upper sections 6 being preferably cut on the bias, and the lower sections 7 being provided with stiffening panels 9 of gothic outline which are smooth on the inner side and stiffened by means of substantially vertical cords at the parts 10 on the outerside. The breast pockets are joined together by means of a seam 11 which extends from the upper edge of the garment down to a reinforcing strip 12, and the breast pockets are joined at each side of the garment to a band 13 extending around the back of the wearer. As shown in Fig. 4, the stiffening cords 17 are each disposed between one series of warp threads 19<a> of the fabric, and a covering portion 22 formed by the weft threads and another series of warp threads.
