448,353. Moulding staircases in situ. BOUDAREL, A., 8, Rue Lamartine, Firminy, Loire, France. Jan. 30, 1935, Nos. 3052 and 3053. Convention dates, Jan. 30, 1934 and Jan. 15, 1935. [Class 20 (ii)] A metal falsework for cement staircases comprises elements which are individually movable in such manner that the height and the width of the steps to be moulded can be regulated. As shown in Fig. 1, the shuttering is supported on one side, adjacent a wall, by a number of interconnected units each comprising a horizontal angle iron a carrying two flat vertical bars b, c. Slots d, e, f, are formed in these members as shown for the reception of locking bolts whereby the units can be relatively adjusted in both the vertical and horizontal directions. The other side of the falsework, adjacent the well, consists of a number of plates j each having a ledge for supporting a horizontal slotted brace l carrying a slotted angle bracket n. Studs k, k<1> on the plates pass through the slots of these members which can thus be moved to adjust the relative positions of adjacent plates. Hooks g, s are provided on the falsework to support the risers h which may consist of telescopically interconnected elements which permit of the adjustment of the length and height of the risers. The base of the mould is formed by boards placed upon straight edges i, p. The bottom step which is wider than the rest is moulded in the manner shown in plan in Fig. 4. The bottom plate j is formed with a right-angle extension j<1> to which is connected a curved element 8. This element has end lugs 9, 10, and locking bolts 11 for enabling it to be connected to any point along the extension j<1> and along a further side plate 16. A similar curved element 12 connects the plate 16 with the bottom riser h.
