Abstract

448,010. Sifting-apparatus. SPEIGHT, J., Alberta, Beach Road West, Felixstowe, and SIMON, Ltd., H., Bird Hall Lane, Cheadle Heath, Cheshire. May 27, 1935, No. 15377. [Class 117] Relates to plansifters of the type in which the sieves are in the form of drawers which are slid into position in shelves provided in a box mounted on beams which are flexibly suspended and caused to gyrate, such as described and shown in Specification 435,328. According to the invention the girders d of the supporting frame are braced by rods at the back and front, the rod n which is at the front side of the frame being disposed in line with one of the shelves b and behind the doors j, k so that the latter and the sieves can be removed and inserted without interference. The box is bolted directly to the girders and is further secured by upper and lower clamping beams h, f secured to the girders d by tie rods i, g. Angle brackets r on the girders engage the rear corners of the box which is further secured by bolts s passing through it. The doors for enclosing the sieves are preferably provided in an upper series j and lower series k and have bevelled edges coacting with bevelled edges on the doors p by which the vertical ducts o are covered and which are separately secured. The doors j, k are secured by twin-buttons q.
