Abstract

447,500. Displaying. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London, and JENNINGS, D. A., c /o General Electric Co., Ltd., Witton, Birming- ham. Nov. 28, 1934, No. 34224. [Class 3 (i)] A turntable 3 for the display of goods &c. is mounted on a base 10 which has one or more viewing openings 18 and which contains a driving motor 1 and a lamp 17. A varicoloured or shutter-form light filter 6 is carried by a disc 5 to turn with the table, and imparts to a display panel at the opening 18 a colour- or other light-changing appearance. The panel may consist of a stencil backed by a white or coloured transparent or translucent sheet, or may comprise such sheet only with opaque printing thereon, or may include a combination of stencil and sheet display, a window being formed in part of the stencil. The upper surface of the disc 5 is polished to reflect light, and the table 3 may be of glass &c., holes covered with coloured material, being cut in the base top to admit light from the lamp 17. The motor 1 may operate a switch to light the lamp intermittently. The base 10 stands on rubber feet 20.
