[Class 135] [See also Group XXVII] In aircraft engines having a supercharger driven through a two-speed gear, an automatic control regulating the supercharger and a device for over-riding or cutting-out such control, means are provided for preventing the operation of the device if the high gear is engaged. The gear lever may carry a projection which is moved by the throttle lever when entering over-riding position so that low gear is engaged. Alternatively, the levers may move in slots in the same quadrant. Various arrangements of slots are shown by which the throttle is prevented from reaching over-riding position if the high gear slot is occupied by the gear lever; for example, the gear lever b<1>, Fig. 1, carries a finger c which occupies the overriding slot b<4> when in " high." An arrangement for cutting out the automatic control when low gear is engaged is shown in Fig. 5. The gear handle k is connected to the valve h<3> of the control and is shown in " high." If the handle k be moved to the right it shuts off the valve by means of a rod j and engages low gear. In the application to over-riding mechanism, Fig. 7, a known form of servomotor device is connected by a rod j to a separate control provided to enable the pilot to cut out the automatic control, and by a rod e<5> to the throttle control. The rod e<5> is also connected to the cage of a differential gear connected as shown to the piston f<4> of the servomotor and to the throttle valve d<2>. The other end of the rod is connected to the valve h<3> of the usual aneroid apparatus.
