447,055. Covers for motor-vehicle radiators. CROWDEN, G. P., Wolstenholme, Stanmore Park, Stanmore, Middlesex, and ADAM & LANE & NEEVE, Ltd., Copperfield Road, Mile End, London. Nov. 6, 1934, No. 31918. [Class 29] [See also Group VIII] A flexible muff or cover for the radiator and/or bonnet of a motor vehicle is provided with an internal surface or lining 7 of high heat reflecting properties, such as aluminium foil, and with means such as ribs 11 of felt for spacing the lining from the wall of the radiator &c. The muff may have a slotted top flap 3 and side flaps 2, and may have integral or detachable portions. extending over the bonnet. The material of the muff may comprise a foil sheet 7 secured as by an adhesive to a fabric layer 9, Fig. 2, spaced from an outer waterproof fabric layer 8, the space being left as an air space or filled with insulating material secured by stitching. Alternatively a fabric layer 9, Fig. 3, may have a foil layer 7, 12 on each surface, and the inside surface of an outer waterproof cover 8 may be lined with foil. The foil layers may be varnished or be protected by an open mesh cover. Specifications 266,177 and 310,572, [both in Class 64 (ii)], are referred to.
