Abstract

445,154. Rotary distributers. DAGONET, G. Y. R., 5, Passage Duguesclin, Paris. May 28, 1935, No. 15506. Convention date, June 9, 1934. [Class 38 (v)] A spark jump rotary distributer adapted to give visual indication of the functioning of the ignition system, comprises a rotating head 19 driven by the engine shaft 29 and which carries an electrode 21 connected to a brush 16 which collects high tension current from a ring 15. The electrode 21 rotates within sparking distance of a series of segments 22 connected by means of cables in sockets 23 to the sparking plugs. A cam shaft 32 is driven from a plate 50 on the engine shaft through centrifugal advance mechanism 54 and actuates a contact-breaker arm (not shown), which co-operates with a fixed contact on a bracket 67. The distributer head has a transparent cover 26 which enables the spark at 21, 22 and the operation of the contact breaker to be observed. The insulation adjacent the segments 22 is graduated in degrees to allow the effect of the centrifugal advance to be observed.
