Abstract

444,456. Toys. GRAHAM, E. M., and GRAHAM, R. L., (trading as GRAHAM BROS.), 8, Bradford Avenue, Redcross Street, London. Aug. 12, 1935, No. 22683. [Class 132 (iii)] A toy vehicle driven by clockwork mechanism 2 has a direction changing wheel 10 for preventing the vehicle leaving the edge of a running surface, the wheel 10 being wholly of metal, toothed or notched on the whole or part of its periphery 13, eccentrically mounted on the spindle 9 inclined to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, and perforated at 11 and sometimes weighted at 12 so that the toothed part 13 which is nearest the spindle 9 is normally lowermost. The rear axle 3 has loosely mounted on it a wheel 4 and has secured to it a nearside driving wheel 5 the tread of which is covered with sand or emery paper 14. The front wheels 21 are rotativelv mounted on the axle 15 carried by a lug 16 punched from the underside 1 of the vehicle and provided with a perforation 17 of such diameter as to allow of rocking of the axle 15 in a vertical plane. Rocking of the axle 15 in a horizontal plane is prevented by a strip 18 having at each end lugs 19 disposed immediately in front of the axle 15. The vehicle is weighted at 20.
