Abstract
444,316. Wireless control of clocks &c. PURSER, J. E., Venture, Clapton Hill, Portishead, Somerset. Aug. 18, 1934, No. 23872. [Class 40 (v)] [See also Group XVIII] A wireless receiver, so constructed as to respond only to a series of particular differing wavelengths in a predetermined sequence, is combined with ratchet-and-pawl mechanism m, p, of which the wheel p is geared to the hands of a clock or watch and the pawl m is operated by a solenoid h<2> energized only by the last wavelength of the series. The radiation of each wavelength is continued during the following wavelength until the series is complete. The series is radiated so as to move the wheel p at intervals of one minute or other desired period. The three tuned circuits e, c, d include crystals g, g<1>, g<2>, variable condensers b, b<1>, b<2> and solenoids h, h<1>, h<2>. When the first wavelength is received over aerial coil a, the corresponding tuned circuit e energizes the solenoid h which closes contacts s in the circuit c. The second wavelength causes the solenoid h<1> to close contacts s<1> and finally the solenoid h<2> and armature j<2> operate the pawl m.
