[Class 37] A device for indicating the position of the shaft of the tuning condensers of a wireless receiving set, comprises a fixed scale, an indicator strip extending parallel with the scale, the end of the strip forming an index co-operating with the scale, and means driven directly from the shaft of the tuning condensers for moving the strip longitudinally in accordance with the setting of the condensers. In one arrangement, Figs. 1 and 2, the indicating strip 3a forms a portion of an endless band 3, the strip 3a being of a different colour from the rest of the band. The strip is mounted between a slotted scale 2 and a back plate 1, and the band is actuated by a drum 6 secured to the shaft 7 of the timing condenser. In a modification, Fig. 3, a radio receiver is fitted with two scales 9 corresponding to long and short waves, one or other of the scales being illuminated by lamps controlled by the change-over switch. Indicator strips 11, slidably mounted between raised ribs 9a on the scale plates and back plates, are secured at their lower ends to an endless cord 13 passing round a drum 15 secured to the shaft 16 of the tuning condenser. On rotating the shaft to adjust the tuning of the receiver, one of the strips rises while the other falls.
