Abstract
Azo dyes are made by coupling the diazo compounds of the aminobenzoylamino compounds from 4 : 4<1>-diaminodiphenylurea-3 : 3<1>-disulphonic acid, from 4 : 4<1>-diaminostilbene-2 : 2<1>-disulphonic acid, or from dehydrothio-toluidine sulphonic acids and their homologues, (cf. Specifications 1441/11 and 18205/11, [both in Class 2 (iii)], with 1-aminoaryl-5-pyrazolone-3-carboxylic acids or their esters or with 1-nitro-aryl - 5 - pyrazolone - 3 - carboxylic acids or their esters, followed by reduction of the nitro group. They may be further diazotized in substance or on the fibre and developed or treated on the fibre with formaldehyde. In examples the following dyes are described: (1) 4 : 4<1> - (di - p - aminobenzoyl) - diaminodiphenylurea - 3 : 3<1> - disulphonic acid \sQ 1 - m - nitrophenyl - 5 - pyrazolone - 3 - carboxylic acid (reduced); it yields a reddish-yellow shade on cotton dischargeable to a pure white; it may be diazotized on the fibre and developed with 1 - phenyl - 3 - methyl - 5 - pyrazolone (yellow) or with b -naphthol (orange); (2) m-amino-benzoyldehydrothiotoluidine sulphonic acid --> 1 - m - aminophenyl - 5 - pyrazolone - 3 - car-boxylic acid (greenish yellow) --> (on the fibre) b -naphthol (yellowish orange). A sample has been furnished under Sect. 2 (5) of the dyestuff: 4 : 4<1> - (di - p - aminobenzoyl) - diaminostilbene - 2 : 2<1> - disulphonic acid \sQ 1 - (m<1> - aminophenyl) - 5 - pyrazolone - 3 - carboxylic acid (yellow). Specification 3557/14, [Class 2 (iii)], also is referred to. According to the Provisional Specification the diazo compounds of amino-benzoylamino compounds obtainable in accordance with Specifications 1441/11 and 18205/11 or of thiazole bases or their sulphonic acids or the aminobenzoyl compounds of these thiazole sulphonic acids are coupled with 1 - aryl - 5 - pyrazolone-3-carboxylic acids or their esters in which the 1-aryl nucleus may contain as a substituent the amino group. In the example the dyestuff 4 : 4<1>-(di-p-aminobenzoyl)-amino-diphenylurea - 3 : 3<1> - disulphonic acid \sQ 1 - phenyl - 5 - pyrazolone - 3 - carboxylic acid is described.
