[Class 132 (iii)] [See also Group V] Apparatus for use as a toy or otherwise for making bricks &c comprises a mould fitted with an ejector a standard on which the combined mould and ejector, is mounted, means for actuating the ejector a displaceable de livery plate for receiving the expressed brick, and a dipping vat into which the delivery plate is lowered to immerse the brick in a hardening liquid. The standard 2 has a bracket 3 carrying a forked guide 4 and a spring clamp 5 which are adapted to engage the tubular stem 18 of the mould 17. A vertical bar 6 provided with a handle, is resiliently supported on the standard 2 so as to be capable of vertical movement and also of partial rotation round the standard. A crank disc 12 is mounted on the standard and operates a vertical rack 15. The bar 6 carries a vertically adjustable fork 21 which terminates in two resilient prongs 22 supporting the delivery plate 23 which is made of stainless gauze and has two slots 24. In operation, the mould 17 is filled and attached in the inverted position to the bracket 3. The rack 15 is then operated and engages a pivoted plate 16 attached to the rod 6. This assembly moves downward and the plate 16 engages the stem 19 of the ejector 20 and forces the brick out onto the delivery plate. The assembly 6 is then turned round the standard and the plate is lowered into the vat 25 to harden the brick. The assembly is again raised, turned through 180‹ and lowered so that two longitudinal ribs 30 on a conveyer belt 28 enter the slots 24 in the plate 23. When the belt is operated by a handle 29 the brick is removed from the plate 23 and delivered for storage and drying. A mixing or grinding mill may also be mounted on the standard to supply material to the mould. All the parts of the apparatus may be driven from a single source of power. A cutting wire or knife may be stretched across the mould to produce two bricks simultaneously or it may be separately mounted. The apparatus may be arranged on a horizontal instead of a vertical axis.
