Abstract
441,960. Boxes. ROYLE, J., 143, Toronga Road, Malvern, Victoria, Australia. Dec. 31, 1934, No. 37335. Convention date, Aug. 15. [Class 18] A multi-sided flanged box or lid is made from two pieces of cardboard, one forming the bottom 1 and the side walls 2, 3, and the flange, the other, Fig. 9, being bent round to form a sleeve which is slipped over the upturned tabs 2, 3 of the base, its flaps 11 being turned inside the tabs and secured by adhesive to the base 1 or by means of a false bottom 18. Some flaps 10a may serve as a top to the box instead of being turned inside the tabs 2, 3, or some of the tabs 2a, Fig. 11, may be left long and serve to close the top of the box. The base blank is double scored at 5, 6 to form the flange and the ends 16 of the flaps 11 may be bent into the said flange. The lid may be stiffened as at 26.
