Abstract
441,336. Wafer baking apparatus. PRESCOTT, W. E., BAKER, G. R., and BAKER PERKINS, Ltd., Westwood Works, Peterborough. July 11, 1934, No. 20352. [Class 28 (i)] The whole or major portion of the back of a plate 4 or mould adapted to be clamped to a second plate and heated by gas flames for baking confectionery wafers or the like is provided with a multiplicity of spaced projections 5 so that the plate absorbs heat uniformly and exposes a greater area to the gas flames. The projections may be in the form of truncated or pointed pyramids, or rounded or other studs or short shallow ridges, and the lanes 6 spacing the projections may be parallel to the edges of the plate. The bases of the pyramids may be square, triangular, hexagonal or of diamond or other shape and the lanes may be disposed accordingly. Projections may be omitted from the seatings 7 where the plates are clamped together, or tapped holes may be provided within the pattern for reception of clamping screws.
