440,919. Holders for threads, cords, &c. WINCHESTER, H. D., 86, Grosvenor Drive, Monkseaton, Northumberland. July 16, 1934, No. 3763/35. Divided out of 433,952. [Class 18] [See also Group VI] A holder for threads, cords, lines, wires, &c. comprises two annular dished discs the inner or outer edges of which are pressed together resiliently to grip the thread end. The resiliency is obtained by spacing either the peripheries or the centres apart and drawing them together on assembly. When the thread is drawn out at the periphery, the centres of the discs are drawn together by a riveted eyelet B, Fig. 1. When the thread is drawn out at the centre, the peripheral flanges F2, Fig. 4, are cemented together after the insertion of a spool. In a variation, discs M, Fig. 5, are trough-shaped and secured together directly on to a ring K<3>.
